One of only three native conifers and our only native pine, the Scots Pine is large evergreen tree that has an attractive orange-brown upper trunk and branches.
Developing a rather picturesque, irregular outline with maturity, its produces twisted grey-green needles that are formed in pairs.
Male and female flowers are produced in the spring, followed by seed cones in the autumn.

Growing Conditions:
Thrives on poor, light, acid soils.

Value To Wildlife:
Provides nesting sites for birds and the seeds are loved by red squirrels.

It is best to plant your trees within a week or two weeks of arrival.
Remember, when your trees arrive we advise to keep them upright, well-watered and away from strong sunlight and high winds.
If looking to use a tree guard when planting Scots Pine whips, we recommend using a mesh tree guard, in order to ensure the young trees have adequate ventilation.
