A tall narrow evergreen tree with an open, conical crown of horizontal branches.
It's bark is purple-brown becoming grey with age and displays dark green needle-like foliage that sharply pointed.
Produces pale-green seed cones which ripen to a pale creamy-brown in the autumn.
Growing Conditions:
Prefers deep, moist but well-drained soil and likes a full sun position.
Value To Wildlife:
The dense foliage provides cover large mammals and vital habitats for a variety of birds including Tree Creepers, Coal Tits and Siskins.
Important Note:
You’ll receive a 2 year old well established whip that’s between 20 to 60cm in height.
It is best to plant your trees within a week or two weeks of arrival.
Remember, when your trees arrive we advise to keep them upright, well-watered and away from strong sunlight and high winds.
